ABOUT US

1987 Premium Mechanical Contracting Inc. was started by Roger Popp and John Johannes. Working out of a garage, they began to develop customer relationships by providing quality service and installations in the residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning field.

1999   The two men partnered with Don Henley adding the capabilities and 20 years of experience in industrial HVAC service.

2001   Premium designs, constructs and occupies our state-of-the-art facility that has become a regional land mark.

2004    Premium Mechanical Services purchased Automated Controls Inc., located in Springfield, Illinois, the Automated Logic® dealer serving Central Illinois for over 15 years. This makes us the exclusive WebCTRL© dealer in this territory. Premium assembled an experienced and knowledgeable team of dedicated employees and operates a full service controls concern as Premium Automated Controls, Inc. Premium has also installed many Trane® Tracer-Summit systems in various locations throughout Southern Illinois and in Southeast Missouri and services Trane®, Carrier® CCN, Johnson® Metasys, Omron®, Allen-Bradley® PLC and Automated Logic® control systems.

2007 Premium Mechanical Services changed company names to Premium Mechanical & Automation Inc. and moved our Automated Logic dealership to our Jackson, Missouri office and are now severing most of Southern Illinois to better serve our existing service customer base.

Premium Mechanical Services & Automation is a member of CHILLER SYSTEMS GROUP®. This association gives us the means to access buying discounts on OEM parts and equipment and to attain engineering and service information typically available to only large contactors and OEM shops. It also gives us an extensive knowledge base for support from many service companies around the country. This is a great asset for our customers who have uncommon problems with equipment such as Carrier, Trane, York, McQuay, Aaon and many others.

Premium employs and invests in trained and educated people and we are capable and willing to do things that other companies will not, cannot or are not allowed to do. At Premium everyone has the authority and the duty to do what is necessary to take care of our customers.

Roger Popp and Kevin Werner are certified in Medical Gas Piping by Medical Gas Management in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Don Henley is a member of SISHE® (Southern Illinois Society of Hospital Engineers)

All of our service technicians and some of our sheet metal technicians are EPA Certified in the handling of refrigerants. Many of our technicians maintain current licenses such as: Master Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Mechanical Installer and Plumbing Fixture Installer in local municipalities. They have also attended several seminars and received in-depth training on major brands of chillers, package units and controls of several different brands.

We are pleased that we have been able to accumulate the most talented personnel, in their fields, between St. Louis and Memphis. Our commercial service technicians have over 100 years of accumulated experience with most brands of commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical equipment. Our sheet metal and fabrication crew are true craftsmen with over 50 years of combined experience.

While getting the job done fast is important, doing it right is critical. We strive to do both.
